Catherine has long believed that businesses succeed through their people. So when she combined her senior experience in HR with an aspiration to support small businesses with people matters in a slightly unconventional way, Clearlink HR was born.

In addition to running the commercial side of Clearlink HR, Catherine also works as a Portfolio HR Director. She supports Managing Directors and top teams of small businesses with strategic workforce issues: acting as a trusted advisor and critical friend. She has excellent working relationships with senior leaders, achieved through careful understanding of their businesses. She helps them deliver positive outcomes in relation to, for example; pay and reward strategy, Board liaison, influencing the shape and size of the workforce, and thinking about ‘Employer Brand’.

Prior to establishing Clearlink HR, Catherine worked as a Senior HR Business Partner in the public and charity sectors, having initially worked in retail HR. Catherine completed a Graduate Training Scheme in the NHS; a degree of Master of Arts in Personnel and Development at Liverpool John Moores University; and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree at The University of Leeds.

Having finally mastered the art of being in ten places at once, Catherine can also be found spending time with her family, walking Border Terriers Zack and Jess, sampling various Gins and Tonics, and baking profiteroles or pavlovas – it really depends on her mood.

Sallyann enjoys the challenge of complex HR matters; helping business leaders find commercially-sound solutions to their tricky people decisions. Her passion is in coaching and training senior managers to enable them to deliver great outcomes through their staff.

With significant experience gained as a Senior HR Business Partner in the private, not-for-profit, charity and Higher Education sectors, Sallyann worked for many years supporting managers in high-volume call centre environments. Having also had HR experience in retail and learning and development, Sallyann worked as a freelance HR Consultant prior to joining Clearlink HR.

In her spare time Sallyann is a qualified powerboat skipper and enjoys the North Wales coast. She also bakes delicious cakes; is fascinated by the mysteries of the supernatural and takes long walks in the countryside with her family and Cockapoo, Monty.

Gary enjoys helping people and places to improve, and is passionate about the employee experience and creating amazing workplaces. Within Clearlink HR he operates as an HR Consultant, providing a range of support to businesses on a very wide range of issues.

Gary is a CIPD Chartered Fellow, a Fellow of the Learning and Performance Institute, a qualified coach, personal trainer, teacher, workplace mediator, H&S professional, mediator, distance learning tutor, and more besides. In his varied career, Gary has worked at HR Director level in central government, Further Education and social housing. He has also got experience of working in a range of different HR, OD and L&D roles in a call centre, a national charity and in international pharmaceuticals, and has experience of both generalist and specialist areas of HR. Before working in HR Gary qualified as a secondary school teacher (he taught History).

He has also managed and delivered CIPD and ILM programmes for many years and has delivered face to face and distance learning qualifications for a range of providers and awarding bodies.

Angela leads the day-to-day running of Clearlink HR, and supports all aspects of our commercial development. With a 13-year background as a Legal Executive in Family and Criminal Law, Ange has a wealth of experience in relation to both client systems and the running of a professional services company.

Angela liaises extensively with clients and suppliers to ensure that relationships and cashflow are healthy; and makes sure that the team can work efficiently in everything we do. She also leads on Clearlink HR’s employment of Administration Apprentices and ensures that the team has good administrative support.

Outside of work, Ange loves spending time with her two girls, is a keen supporter of husband Chris’ rugby team; and enjoys nothing more than a good DVD box set with a chilled glass of Prosecco.
